Rudyard Kipling's timeless fable of the orphaned boy, Mowgli (Neel Sethi), reared by wild animals, springs to dazzling life in Walt Disney Pictures' and director Jon Favreau's hybrid live and animated feature, in which jungle creatures — including Bagheera the panther (Ben Kinglsey), Shere Khan the tiger (Idris Elba), Kaa the snake (Scarlett Johansson) and Baloo the bear (Bill Murray) — vie for the attentions of the man-child in their midst. Visual effects supervisor Rob Legato brainstormed the realization of creatures and environments with MPC and Weta Digital, with the assistance of Digital Domain, Legacy Effects and Magnopus.

Past philosophical differences between Avengers Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) come to a head in Marvel Studios' new action thriller. Following their sure helmsmanship of 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Anthony and Joe Russo direct. Special effects supervisor Daniel Sudick oversaw in-camera effects, with additional practical effects provided by special makeup effects artist Bart Mixon and artisans from Ironhead Studio, Legacy Effects and Quantum Creation. In postproduction, Industrial Light & Magic, Luma Pictures, Method Studios, Double Negative, Base FX and Cinesite contributed visual effects spectacle befitting the dynamic Avengers' world.
 
X-Men: Apocalypse

Director Bryan Singer returns to Marvel's mutant universe for 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse, in which a team led by Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) confronts the god-like Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), an ancient immortal bent on world domination. Visual effects supervisor John Dykstra and visual effects producer Blondel Aidoo marshal the creative forces of Digital Domain, MPC, Hydraulx, and Rising Sun Pictures. Special effects supervisor Stephen Hamilton ramps up the practical action, while Legacy Effects, Ironhead Studio, and makeup effects supervisor Adrien Morot bring the film's many mutant characters to life with a range of prosthetics and specialty costumes.

Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the magical world of Underland to encounter strange creatures and phantasmagorical realms old and new. Director James Bobin continues the journey that producer Tim Burton and screenwriter Linda Woolverton began in their previous exploration of Lewis Carroll's fantasy classic, assisted by visual effects supervisor Ken Ralston and artisans at Sony Pictures Imageworks and Double Negative. Special effects supervisor Neil Corbould and makeup effects supervisor Matthew Smith provided practical effects. Legend3D, Prime Focus World, Gener8 provided stereoscopic effects.
