After a reintroduction of the young web-slinger in Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) headlines the new film from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming has teenager Peter Parker juggling the normal woes of high school life with those of a high-flying crime fighter. Daniel Sudick supervised on-set special effects, while Digital Domain, Luma, Deluxe's Method Studios, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Iloura delivered visual effects in the dynamic Marvel Comics Universe style.  
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales  
Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) returns to the high seas, seeking the all-powerful Trident of Poseidon in order to defeat the vengeful Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem). Directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg took the helm, with visual effects supervisor Gary Brozenich steering shiploads of artists at MPC, Atomic Fiction, Rodeo FX, Lola VFX, Mr. X and CoSA VFX. Rick Findlater, Peter Swords King and Odd Studio's Adam Johansen summoned ghostly makeup effects, and Dan Oliver oversaw special effects. A Walt Disney Pictures production.  
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets  
Visionary director Luc Besson conjures the diverse future metropolis of Alpha in a dazzling sci-fi adventure adapted from the comic books by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières. Special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) race against time to tackle a menace that threatens the universe. Visual effects supervisor Scott Stokdyk filled the screen with uniquely styled intergalactic imagery fashioned by artists at Rodeo FX, Weta Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, Hybride Technologies and BaseFX.  
The Mummy  
Universal Pictures resurrects one of its classic monsters in this tale of the leader of a U.S. military expedition (Tom Cruise) that disinters an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella) from her tomb beneath a Middle Eastern desert and unleashes an ancient evil on the modern world. Production visual effects supervisor Erik Nash, special effects supervisor Dominic Tuohy and makeup effects supervisor David White assisted director Alex Kurtzman bringing the Mummy back to life with artists at MPC, Double Negative, Industrial Light & Magic, Furious FX, Factory VFX, Space Monkey, Outback Post, StereoD, Lola Visual Effects and Proof, Inc.  
War for the Planet of the Apes    
Director Matt Reeves returns to 20th Century Fox's science fiction franchise continuing the story of Caesar (Andy Serkis), leader of a race of genetically modified apes, who now faces war with a maniacal human colonel (Woody Harrelson) leader of the downtrodden human race. Senior visual effects supervisor Joe Letteri and visual effects supervisor Dan Lemmon reprised their roles overseeing animation and effects at Weta Digital, special effects supervisor Joel Whist assisted action on locations in Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies, and StereoD provided stereographic conversions.
